Application Process

There a few steps needed to complete an application for care.

1. Organise an ACAT assessment

Aged Care Assessment Teams  (ACAT) assessment help ageing people and their carers find and organise the most appropriate care which best suits their needs.

2. Complete an assets and income assessment

This form is available as part of your MCS Application Pack or from the Department of Social Services. You should return the form to the Department of Social Services or the Department of Veterans’ Affairs as per the instructions on the form

3. Complete an application form

Available from Mercy Community Services (MCS)

Resident Agreement

All residents are offered a resident agreement.

The agreement documents:

  • conditions of residency including security of tenure
  • services provided
  • fees and charges
  • payment of accommodation bonds
  • the charter of resident rights and responsibilities.
  • Fees and Accommodation charges after 1 July 2014.

Resident fees and charges include a daily fee, accommodation charge and means tested contribution to the cost of care and accommodation.
