Individual growth and spiritual development leads to a fullness of life

Settling In

It has long been recognised that ‘moving’ is one of the most stressful events in our lives. Imagine how much more stressful it is when you are trying to pack up your life and move to a foreign place to live with people you have never met?

It is understanding the stress of moving and importance of starting out properly that led to the development of our  ‘Transition to Care’ program. On moving in day, much can be done to allay your fears and dispel many of the myths that still surround aged care today. Our Project Officer will visit you and discuss your fears, concerns and expectations. They will give you information about:

  • what to expect
  • who the management team are
  • how you can contact them
  • what happens in a normal day at the facility.

This way you will feel a little more in control and informed about the move.

Arrival day

On arrival day the room is set up with your own personal belongings and customised to make it yours. Staff will introduce themselves and will already know a few things about you from the transition information. Your family will be invited to stay for lunch and help unpack the rest of your belongings. You will have a tour of your immediate surroundings and meet some of your new neighbours.

Our activities staff will welcome you and ensure you are escorted to meals and know what the activities are for the coming week.

We will understand that it’s a big day!
